Sam Loses Her First Tooth!

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

It's been a historic day in our house today.  Samantha lost her very first tooth!  It had been loose and wiggly for a couple of weeks now.  In fact, the new tooth had already come in behind it!  I see braces in our future with this girl. When she got up this morning the tooth was actually sideways in her mouth.  I told her, "Sam, you just need to pull that tooth right out!" And, so she did!  It took a little doing but she got it to come out all by herself.  No tears, no worries, just pulled it out and she wasdone.  What a brave girl!  We had to call Daddy at work and Grandma to tell the news.  I told her she's officially a big girl now.

The tooth was so tiny I was afraid she'd lose it.  So, I created a little tooth envelope for her.  She very carefully put the tooth in it tonight before bed.  We told her that once it was in the envelope and under her pillow that she couldn't touch it again or the Tooth Fairy wouldn't come.  There's no way I'm going to be searching around for that up on the top bunk of their bunkbed!  Victor just went in and found the envelope right where she left it.  What a good girl!  It fit four quarters in it just perfectly!  She'll be so excited when she wakes up!

About the envelope, she was so thrilled to have me create something just for her.  Of course, as my dear husband will tell you, no matter what I create for someone specific, I have to share it somehow with everyone. So, I've decided that the Tooth Fairy Envelope with be the 18th Download for the Sam & Hailey Designs Membership Club!  So many people have commented that the simple design will come in very handy for them, too.

That's it for tonight folks!  Have a wonderful Thursday!

Thanks for playing!

Sam's Cooking Class

image1098059799.jpgHappy Tuesday, Everyone!

I just got back from picking Sam up from cooking class. She's having so much fun! Today they made pizza on pita bread which was a huge hit. So much, in fact, we had to come home and make it again for lunch. We didn't have any pita bread, but I had just made bread this morning so we made it on slices of fresh bread. Looks yummy, huh?

More later!

I'm Baaaack! Plus Monthly Special and Monday Super Steal!

Happy Monday, Everyone!  Did you miss me?  Girls Camp was AMAZING!  The girls were adorable and fun and everything went smoothly.  We stayed up late every night laughing until our sides hurt.  But now I'm exhausted.  I can't seem to catch up on my sleep!  It will get there I'm sure.  It's fun to be home and see that the house looks the same as when I left it mostly.

Many things seem to have happened to our friends and family while I was gone. I was feeling overwhelmed with emotion as I caught up my email on Saturday night.  Most heartbreaking to me was the news of our dear friends the Capson's back in Connecticut.  Their tiny 2 year old son had surgery to remove tumors in his abdomen.  It's looking like cancer and that it may have spread to the spine and brain.  Yesterday we fasted for little Spencer and have been praying for him a lot.  The girls say the sweetest prayers for the little guy.  This is one of those situations where we really miss being back in Connecticut.  Although there's nothing we could do, we could at least help with the other children and provide support.  All we have to share is words of comfort and in a way they can seem hollow.  But I know that prayer is powerful and a lot of people the world over are prayer for little Spencer and his family.  Anything is possible when you put your trust in the Lord.  Someone shared in church on Sunday the scripture Genesis 18:14 - "Is any thing too hard for the Lord?"  This is such a simple yet profound question.  There isn't anything that the Lord can't do.  The challenge is understanding the "his will be done" part.  That's what impresses me about the Capsons.  They have truly humbled themselves to accept the will of the Lord in this and have such incredible faith.  At times like this I just want to hug my kids close and feel so grateful.

So, I suppose I should get a little business done here!  I did want to let you know about my June Monthly Special!  I'm offering my Basic Cupcake Wrappers for 30% off all month long!  That's just $1.39 for four great basic wrappers!  And... these are available in SVG format, too!

But wait there's more!  Today is Monday and that means the Monday Super Steal!  Today it's my 3D Butterfly Card!  When I started converting to SVG last month, this was one of my most requested files.  So, today I'm offering you all the versions, including SVG, for 50% off!  That's just $1.00 for a card that looks cool and is so easy to cut!

Well, that's it for today, folks.  I hope that things start looking up for those of you out there that are struggling.  Seems like so much suffering lately.  There has to be a purpose to it all, but it sure is hard to see some times.

Thanks for playing,

Jan

Off I go!

Happy Monday, Everyone!

I'm off to Girls Camp this morning.  No phone or email or blog access for a week!  Combine that with no showers and no Diet Coke and I'll probably be a basket case when I get back!  Victor is holding down the fort at home (what a wonderful hubby!) so I'm sure that things will go well here.

Wish me luck!

Kindergarten Graduation Part 2

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

I know I'm a week late for getting the rest of these pictures up!  Ooops!

Sam ended up having a last minute speaking part.  You know, 8 months ago, it would have been a challenge for her to do that in front of 50 or so people even with practice.  To be able to do it at the drop of a hat, very impressive in my book.

They sang some really cute songs.  Starting with "Down By The Bay."

Sam had the first solo in the song.  She got to say "Did you ever see a fly, wearing a tie?"

She was so proud of herself for saying it nice and loud.

The next song they sang was "First Grade, First Grade" sung to the tune of "New York, New York."  I don't remember it all but it started out "Start spreading the news.  I'm leaving today.  I'm going to be a part of it, First Grade, First Grade!"  Totally cute!   Sam even threw in some dance moves... nice jazz hands!

At the end of the song, they walked off out into the hall while kicking their legs.  Not exactly the Rockettes, but cute nonetheless.

Once they were all out in the hall waiting to be called for their diplomas, Hailey had to get into the act with a little dancing of her own.

Here's the only shot I got of Sam getting her certificate.  She was going so fast that I didn't get the traditional diploma/handshake picture.

The hat is darling though!

Daddy didn't like the hat so much when it poked him in the eye.  Sorry, dear!

Here's all the family that could come.  I have no idea who that big fat lady with the grey hair is... absolutely no idea.

Here's Sam and her teacher.  She's already missing school big time and it's been less than a week!

Lastly, I had to grab this shot of Samantha by the growth chart.  She marked each child's height on it on the first day of school.  Samantha's pointing to her spot, so you can see how much she's grown in less than a year!

That's it for today folks!

Thanks for playing!
