Hi, I’m Ileana.  My name is pronounced like “eye lee anna.”  It’s ancient Greek and means:  “from the city of Troy.”  I am not Greek and I have never been to any city named Troy, but I am in the third of four generations of women whose name begins with “I.”  So when I decided to design exclusively for Paperthreads, choosing a name easily followed:  I Scrap Designs.

I have been scrapbooking for over ten years now but I have been creatively involved in one thing or another since my grandmother started to teach me to sew at the age of 3.  I enjoy sewing, cross stitch, stained glass, but my passion is paper-crafting, especially scrapbooking.

I am very happily married to my best friend, Bryan.  I am proud to say that my husband has dedicated his life in service to America.  He’s an Air Force Reservist and works for the federal government in his civilian job too.  We have two wonderful children together, Bryce and Ilaria.

I am also a teacher.  I have a BA in English, Secondary Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.  After I graduated from college I started to learn Spanish and then got a MS in Secondary Education with a Bilingual Endorsement.  I currently teach Spanish part-time and am actively involved with my children’s school by serving on the school board.

I am so blessed to join the Paperthreads team and in thanksgiving for that, a portion of every I Scrap Design sold will go to charity.
