....so far? I'm having a blast! Most of you know my little man has been here since Thursday night and he is OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!! :D He is the BEST kid ever but he has these spells where he's just a little monster! He's fast approaching his terrible twos but I think he's already there! He's strong willed and very stubborn at times and then the next minute, he's a cuddly and lovey! He's a trip! He says Mom, Dad and Papa but only has said Grandma ONCE on the phone when he was "talking" to me Thursday before they headed up here. I was THRILLED but can't get him to say it again. He says "Bob the Builder", too.....ROFLOL

Friday was our Thanksgiving and then yesterday (Saturday) was our shopping day. We went to Lowe's and got Clay a little race car that has a parental control handle on it. (See attached picture) They had a display set up, we put him in it and he LOVED it so how could Grandma NOT get it for him...plus it was on sale so double fun!!!!!!! I'm going to have Papa put it together while they are at church today and I'm going to try to get some things done around here. When you walk into my home, you can tell Clay is here! TOYS everywhere! ROFLOL But I don't care. The little man in my life is here and that's ALL that matters!

We went to Henslers Nursery in Hamlet, IN yesterday and Mrs. Clause and Santa were there. They are having their Christmas Fest and since we went there for the Fall Fest, it only stood to reason we HAD to visit for Christmas Fest. If you look in "Look What's in the Gallery" section of the Forum and then to go my post about Laury's Glass Ornament" you will see pictures of Clay with Mrs. Clause, Santa and then one with my DH, Rocky, Santa, me and Clay! Of course, it's going to be a LO eventually but you can see the pictures here (http://www.paperthreads.com/forum/showthread.php?p=98399#post98399).

I shopped til I dropped at JoAnn's! Got TONS of Christmas paper for scrapping and cardmaking! They had ornaments on sale for 50% off so, since I'm a penguin nut, I got a couple of those for Clay. I LOVE penguins! ANYWAY, I also looked for a brayer but do you know JoAnn's had ZERO! They said they don't carry them and I KNOW I've seen them there before so I'll have to get on line to find one. I live SO far away from everything that I have to travel 45 minutes in every direction to shop. LOL

Well, I've shared MY weekend so far.....how's YOURS?

First of all, Sue, Clay is such a little cutie pie. And he is just growing up waaayyy too fast. I had my little munchkin for the day on Saturday, so I can totally relate to everything you just said. They are great one minute, and a monster the next. And as soon as they leave, you just miss them to death. Baby Jericho has bronchitis and a terrible cough, so we are praying that he gets better soon. But I did get to hold him for a little while today, that was the best. My DD and I also took advantage of some great Black Friday deals, here in Canada. I got some new clothes and it was great. Besides all that, I did waaayyyy too much shopping here at PT, but got some great goodies, and some new files. Plus, Sue, I had to order that liquie applique. You sold me on that one. :blow:

The kids left yesterday afternoon and on the way home, Clay spiked a fever and they ran him to the ER! It was 103° when my DD called me to let me know and I almost jumped in my truck and headed to where they were. But, I said a prayer instead and let my dear, beloved Savior take watch over Clay. They pumped him with some meds, did a chest x-ray and at about 9:45 last night, his fever broke and they released him. THANK YOU, JESUS!;)

The BAD thing about the kids coming and having a long visit with us is them leaving! I cried like a baby when they pulled out of the driveway! I LOVE having them here and it breaks my heart when they leave! But, my DD and I started fighting which we ALWAYS do when you have two very head strong women in the same house:D, so it was time for them to go! ::(

Praying everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and, Gina, glad to hear you got some liquid applique. You're going to love, love, LOVE the effect it gives to your projects!

I ordered a Bind-It-All from Michelle and it should be here this week. It's an early Christmas present from my DH! He has NO idea what to get me (although he did GOOD a few years back for my birthday when he bought me my craft robo and I haven't looked back since). Since Michelle had a fabulous sale on it, I got the OK from DH to get it! Gotta love a man who knows a bargain! :D

I'm glad Clay is okay! I know that relieved your mind a lot! We had a busy weekend and a busy week ahead. We got our $10,000 deductible paid in and insurance is paying 100% so we're getting everything done that we can! Today I'm seeing an orothopod to see about getting some hardware out of my left hand. The right hand doesn't bother me but the left does. Insurance might not cover it though. I have a colonoscopy on Thursday. Also getting all that women stuff done. Getting two moles removed. Paul got his toes fixed, getting his colonoscopy in two weeks, etc, etc, etc. I'm also getting my physical therapy. All this means that we are driving to Abilene 3 - 4 times a week for the rest of the year! Not fun! But we're thankful the insurance company will pick up the tab! There's always an up side!

Sue I'm glad to hear that they were able to get Clay's fever down...I know it can be scary! As far as little battles go that I usually leave for my Sister and Mother...Thanksgiving normally ends with one of them crying but suprisingly it didn't happen this year...my mom was much more...what is the word....reserved when it came to sharing her opinions

Shirley, I hope that everything goes well and that recovery is not too long! You know you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to Everyone

I had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. We had dinner at my BIL's on Thursday (he is a marvelous cook) and Alex got to play with his cousin Noah (or tried to anyway - Noah is 6 and was busy coloring with his markers). On Friday we had a big family get-together to welcome my cousin's new wife and daughter to the family (they live in NC and this was the first time we had met them). I got some really cute pictures of Alex with his 2 younger cousins (2nd cousins?). And I just have to share this photo of Alex in disguise! How cute is he???

Sounds like everyone had busy but full weekends. Sue, fevers in little ones can be so scary. The highest my babies ever had was a little over 104 and it just about gave me a heart attack.

Gina, you will love the liquid applique. I haven't used mine in years but I should get it out and have some fun with it again. It might not be good anymore! lol!

Kelly, that picture is adorable...and too funny! What a cutie!

Shirley, I hope that everything goes well for you! Our medical issues have mainly been with my husband and daughter and I know how draining it can be (esp with insurance!). I'll be praying that everything goes smoothly for you.

We had a great weekend, a quiet Thanksgiving day here at the house. Friday we took the kids to a tree farm (our yearly tradition) and cut down a tree. Thankfully the trees never take long to cut as it gets pretty windy/chilly out there. Spent Saturday with my parents and brother and Sunday relaxing (yet again!). We shopped black Friday last year and decided to opt out this year...can't say I missed any of it. :o:

Thanks guys! Found out that I'm getting the hardware removed out of my left hand (not bothering my right hand) a week from Wednesday. I dread it but I'm more tire of putting up with the pain from the screws that are protruding out. It's just a out patient procedure, but the recovery will take some time according to the doc. We'll see! It's tough getting everything squeezed in before the end of the year.

I'm thrilled to see a picture of your gorgeous family! What FUN cutting your own tree! I still set up my artificial tree. We are just too busy working to tend to a real one! Sad to say but true!

Praying you're feeling better, Ginger! It's that time of the year, isn't it? HATE IT!!!!!! My SIL is sick now and Clay isn't 100% yet but I did "talk" to him last night and he's SO funny! Can't understand a word he's saying except "Bob the Builder".... I keep saying "Grandma" and he laughs. Hmmmm....maybe I should change my name to Bob the Builder. ROFLOL

Funny, before we had kids we either put up a small artificial tree or didn't put one up at all. We only started having real trees once the kids popped out. I have to keep reminding myself that the tree needs to be 'fed' just like the kids! lol!
