Ok so I made a title using my WinPC and five different colors!!! Thank you very much and the PC is still intact!!!

But after I export it to an DFX file and the convert to a GSD then zip it, it is still like 957 KB - how can I make it smaller than that to share??

I added a photo of the finished product!

Lori, this happens a lot with the converted files! Is the DXF file small enough to share, if you zip it? the other thing, simplify your paths, you can simplify several times usually, and it will give less edit points, and will convert smaller...

Lori, I love this file! I told you you were advanced!

Michelle - Can I simplify in WinPC? (I know I could in Inkscape - but I deleted it so I would force myself to learn the WinPC.....) If I can, do you know what they are calling it? I did a path clean up - but it just erases duplicate cut lines.

As for the DFX it is smaller - but when I zip it, it is still like 345 KB..... Crazy!!! LOL

Thanks Mary!!! I don't think I am advanced - but one day I hope to get there!!!! LOL

Oh and I forgot to add that the WinPC finished file is only 25 K - I just don't get it !!!!

i don't have the software open, but I believe the key codes are ALT+P to simplify path....

Michelle you ROCK!!!! It was right in front of my face!!!
If it had been a snake it would have bit me!!!!

Once I simplify should I recut to make sure it still cuts well? Or is it a given???

As long as it still looks good on screen, then you should be fine :) As all you are doing is eliminating the number of anchor points...

Lori....I want a winPC if I can be like you :)
I just seen a call posted by Michelle looking for designers, I wanted to make sure you noticed. I LOVE your work and with your ability you could even give out helpful pointers. hmmmm does that mean we'de have to buy your work?? :)

So you are so funny!! I have to tell you now that Kate saved me and told me how to change my pen colors in WinPC I am really digging the WinPC.... and you would be SHOCKED at how fast and quite my cutter is now!!! And I can chose how many passes I want it to make from the cutting screen!!

I haven't even touched the surface of what all it can do - but I am very, very, very happy (until the next crisis!!!) with this program!

And of course I got it from Michelle here at the Paperthread store - so it was fast, easy, and a joy to order!!!

I say the exact same thing. You should be a paid designer here. Get your 5 files done!
(I was up until 3 working on files but you beat me staying up until 4, lol)

Lol!

I love Illustrator! :) It's my program of choice for designing! I make all my files in there, and then convert them over to the other programs!
