I see that files for cutters are in a GSD format... what type of programs read these files? I am a photographer on the main & do designing & I have been using Photoshop for several years, so this is really the only program I work in daily... I do not see a gsd format within photoshop... so is it that I will not beable to take these files into there?
also I have template of boxes & bags I have made & are saved in either .png or jpeg format... will I beable to use these with the KNK Element cutter?
thank you in advance for you help... :) sorry I am so new at all this...

Jillian,
GSD file types are native to the Wishblade, CraftRobo, Silhouette machines. The KNK Element's native format is .knk
As a photographer, you deal with RASTER images, for these machines, you will instead deal with vector images. So to make a design, you have to get your picture file into your program and do autotracing....
The manual that comes with the KNK will show you how to do this. And to answer your final question, you can open that template file up in KNK, and then convert it to a vector graphic so the machine can cut it out ;)

But it would be nice if I knew more and had a little less to learn! I think I would still have fun!

LOL... this be true but I always think if you keep thinking there is to much to learn it will feel to much like work & not fun... so try to always make it seem like the learning part is what makes the knowning so much fun... :)

I am slowly learning illustrator & I have to admit I get frustrated at times. That's when I stop & do something else.
I'm also still learning about my cutter but it is all slowly starting to come together and it is so worth it!

lol!
Sally, you can post any question on WPC and we will all help you with it :)
Think of it this way...if the question isn't asked publicly, then we don't have a public answer, and that answer may just help someone else!
For us, sometimes when we have been using the software for a while, we forget to give the information of the things we know, as we assume others know that stuff too :)
So it really is important to ask questions, then we can build a better information base for others!!

waawa wawa wawa - that is the noise that all the adults make on Charlie Brown!!! LOL
I know, I know, but I think you get use to what you get use to and that is that!!!
Then another part of the problem is have been trying to get some new stuff up in the store - and it is just plain out easier to do it the way I know how to do it!!! LOL
I promise, no I swear - when the hubby leaves again -I will make it a priority to lean AI =
Who is going to come to GA and teach me?? I will give you room and board and even take you out on my jet ski, oh and did you know I can cook - I can cook but GOOD!!!! LOL

We do plan a trip to Dora's after we get our construction done! We might just have to give you a call! Paul worked with a Cajun while we were living temporarily in Missouri. He brought us some sausage when he took a trip home to Louisiana. Gumbo made out of that sausage was the best ever. We called the place and they don't ship. Guess we are going to have to plan a trip to Louisiana too!

Oh really! Actually we don't live in Granbury anymore. We just moved to Cross Plains . . .but you can still come visit! Actually, we won't be making gumbo until we get our house built, but once we get that done you are welcome to come have a bowl!
