Hi all,
I am a relatively new owner of a CR, and have a question about editing a dingbat font. I am trying to use one ( a care bear one) to cut out of vinyl for my granddaughter's room. Is there a way to edit out the stray marks on the character so that the CR does not make unnecessary cuts? I have tried but can't seem to break the image apart for edit and wondered if it was just me.
Thanks
Rosemary
PS I hope this works, I didn't see it show up yesterday so thought I put it in the wrong spot.

Rosemary...I am not much help since I use Inkscape and WinPC...but to edit a letter (which is essentially what a dingbat is) it first has to be changed to an object. In Inkscape it is selected and then "Object to Path". I don't know about CR, but you might look for something similar. Then you should be able to edit the individual parts of the dingbat.
Hopefully some of the other CR experts here will chime in and give you better help.

Unfortunately in the CR or WB softwareI think the only thing you can do is type, resize, and cut out the dingbat...just like any other font. So there really isn't a way to modify what the machine shows as cutlines that I know of.

This is a big help, Sally as I do have Inkscape, I was just trying to do this the wrong way. Figures, I am not the most computer savvy one on the list:D

We were all beginners at one time, Rosemary...LOL!! I learned everything I do right here on the forum...so if you do the tutorials, you'll be cutting like a pro in no time. If you have any more problems, someone will be glad to help.
