I thought I had decided to get the Craft Robo and was directed to various groups/forums to get more info on them, but now I'm more confused than ever on all the options on machines & softwares. Here's what I want to do - cut titles, including welded words & shadows, trace around stamped images to cut a mat for them, and cut various die cut shapes, especially the scalloped circles, ovals, etc. like the Marvy punches or Nestabilities. I also use Stampin' Up cardstock, so I want something that cuts that well. I'm fairly competent with a computer, but one click action is always preferable to 3 (or more!) steps. I've seen a demo of the KNK Studio software & it looks really slick, but it's double the price of the WinPCSign software. Will the WinPCSign software do what I want, or do I need to purchase any additional software at all? Or should I be getting another machine altogether? I've only got about $400-450 to spend, so that limits my options somewhat. There's just so much information out there and so many options - without being able to see them all, hands-on, it's very intimidating. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

WinPCSign will definitely do what you want and will cut directly to the CraftRobo. Michelle said the other day that there's something new coming out in a couple of weeks. You might want to wait to make a decision until she announces it.

Can you sit on it for another 2 weeks? As we may have a great solution for you, at below your price range :)

Michelle and I are friends. I tried to pry this news out of her and she isn't budging. Her lips are sealed. Michelle, we are all hanging! Are ya happy now?

Hmmm... I think Michelle's out of town this weekend... we could plan a little Mission Impossible!
Ok, maybe not. I'd have to find a babysitter and somehow get to Michigan.
Darn it!

I think it was referring to software...the KNK GE.
But if you're in the market for a new/first machine...Michelle has some craftrobo's for a GREAT pre-Christmas price...Check out her blog for coupon details: http://www.paperthreads.com/blog/paperthreads/
Just tell her "Jen sent you" :)

There isn't a new machine available, but a new option!
You can now get the CraftRobo for $281 ($271 if you look for a coupon on some of the designer blogs, and you use it before it expires!)
Then, with that machine you can purchase the KNK Studio GE program, which will allow you to have the great KNK Studio software running in conjunction with your machine. Which all together runs $271 for the CR, $139 for the software for a total of $400.
Although, ultimately, the best option is to just get the KNK Element, which gives you an additional blade, more speed and more cutting power in the package! Plus the clipart and font CD.
We have many CR/WB/SIL owners that are selling up their machines and going with the Klic-N-Kut machines, because they want the ability to do more...but there are plenty of other owners that are very satisfied with their smaller machines! So it all boils down to what you want to do with the machine and what you want to spend!

hmmm. that could be an option.
question: do any of these programs "print" on your paper? make some of the patterned letters and such like you can order? like striped or polka dot letters. just wonder if you're able to print anything like this - i don't know too much about the programs and what they do.

i found it for $269 it looks like regular at http://www.scrapbookdiecutter.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=S&Category_Code=MF
also. i found a site saying that the maximum paper size is 11x40 with some kind of additional tray - but that the cutting area is 8x40. is this true? just checking. seems like everything i saw was with the max paper size of 8x40.
thanks!

You might want to check this link (http://www.paperthreads.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2014) out. It gives the cutting sizes of the various machines. They all vary so this list will give you a guide to get the cutting size you want. Michelle sells several machines and gives great deals. Here is a link (http://www.paperthreads.com/store/) to the store!

i found it for $269 it looks like regular at http://www.scrapbookdiecutter.com/mm...tegory_Code=MF (http://www.scrapbookdiecutter.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=S&Category_Code=MF)
That price of $269 does not include shipping and handling, you will find their price for that to be around $11.99, and their package also does not include the file collection add ons, worth an additional $29.92 :)
Our price adds in the shipping and handling.

The max paper size IS 11 inches wide (but only 7.87 inches is "cuttable" width). In other words the opening is 11 inches wide without getting the paper caught on anything.
