What metal are we talking about, and of what gauge?
Anybody has any idea if it would work with 18g sterling silver?
Cheers!

I have some metal here to test cut. I hope to do it this week. So I will let you know how it goes. I got it from Michelle before she carries it in the store. I had a family emergency so havent gotten it cut yet. I can't wait to try it.
Enjoy!

Ugh, sorry for the newbie-ness..but what is Michelle's store? :o Can you tell me what kind of metal it, and is it bendy or hard?
Cheers!

You know I haven't looked...it may not be listed yet. Michelle comes back today and may be able to help.

I've cut 1/16" thick basswood - not cleanly, but it does cut with the new thicker blade.
I imagine its just as dense as silver. 1/16" = .0625 and 18 gauge metal = 0.04, so I imagine it will cut. But seeing as its metal I bet the blade will dull quicker...

The metal Michelle sent me is a lot thicker then I thought it would be.
Enjoy!

I'm out of town, but the metal that I sent Chris to do samples with is 36 gauge aluminum, 36 gauge copper, and Tin Coated Pewter.
The copper is the most dense of what I have, but it does cut on the KNK. The other gold and silver is aluminum, and cuts very easily and cleanly.
The Tin Coated Pewter is SWEET! It's a tiny bit thicker, but a very "fluid" metal. It embosses, shapes and molds beautifully. It cuts on the machine, and I posted a sample cut by Chad, when he was test cutting the new drill punch tool. I'm attaching the sample here.
The metal isn't in the store yet, as I wanted to get some samples posted for people to know, and see what settings Chris was able to successfully work with it, to see if it's within line of what I tried....
I am out of town until Wednesday, and hopefully by next week it will all be in the store!

That looks wonderful! Would you say it's thick enough to be used as a pendant, or would it be bent all out of shape?

It's not thick enough to be used as a pendant. All of this metal is pretty flexible.
HOWEVER, you could use it to mold "over" a pendant, i.e. a thin to medium chipboard...
