Hi! I'm new and looking to buy a machine, and I have a few questions.

Is the Inspiration basically a replacement for the Mighty? I think I read that in a thread somewhere. Are the specs for the Inspiration about the same as for the Mighty, which is already detailed in the comparison chart? My SIL uses a pro version at her work and really likes it. This forum is the first place I've heard about a KNK. I've personally never seen or used either one, so I'm nervous about buying either one sight-unseen. I'm pretty good with computer software, I think, so I don't think the learning curve I've read about is going to be a problem. But I wonder about the hands-on use of the two machines. From the YouTube videos I've seen, the KNK looks both more versatile and more heavy duty than the Inspiration, but also looks like it requires a lot more hands-on adjustment every time you go to use it. Is that right? I think I'd be bothered by a million adjustments every time, and I wonder if I'll want the wider bed on the Inspiration, but I have this sneaky feeling that the KNK is the better machine... At the same time, I'm pretty new to scrapbooking, so I wonder if the Pazzles is "enough."

What do you think? How did you decide between the two? Or, if you have them both or have used them both, how do you/would you balance the two for your personal use?

thanks,
Bridget

The KNK PRO, is the SAME machine as the Pazzles Pro, the differences are in the tools that go in the machines, the software, and where to go for support.

So, if you wanted a machine like her pro, the KNK Pro is it.

For the Inspiration, it does take the place of the mighty, with a larger cutting width, more speed, more pressure (500 grams)

The KNK Element has 500 grams of pressure, 9" cutting width, but is a little bit sturdier than the Inspiration....as the Inspiration is not intended for production or use outside of the single owner.

The adjustments you make each time you use the machines are about similar. You need to adjust your blade on both if you change your paper.

With the KNK, you have a bit more flexibility with the size of material you cut, as you can move your rollers in or out to accomodate smaller pieces of paper, while with the Pazzles, you run into problems if your mat isn't sticky enough when using scraps, as you have no control over your rollers.

With the KNK, when doing projects like the glue pen to draw, then glitter...you can move your rollers so they are out of the way and don't smear the glue/pen. With the Pazzles you can't move the rollers, so you have to expect that there will be some smearing once in a while.

If you need 12x12 cutting, and your budget isn't able to go to the 13" machine, then the Pazzles is a GREAT alternative to the home scrapper. You can cut the same materials on both machines. The KNK is a little more heavier duty, but both are great machines. I know some people would never consider changing machines...

and I know one or two that bought the Pazzles, because of the price and 12x12 cutting ability, but I also know a couple that did this, and then sold it, because they like the KNK better, so spent the extra to get the 13" machine.
