This is a cute file designed by Shelly's Art titled: Christmas Pickle with Title. This file can be found in the KNK or Illustrator shared files forum (http://www.paperthreads.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4647&highlight=pickle).
To see this card, you can head on over to Shelly's Art Gallery spot (http://www.paperthreads.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2652). :)

The card base is from a card value pack found at Michaels Art Store. Edge of the card and the edge of the pine tree paper is edged with a red marker.
The file images were done on scrap papers and touched up with chalk inks.

Thanks for looking :)

Thought I'd add a site explaining this Cute Tradition (in some families) (http://christmas.lovetoknow.com/History_of_Christmas_Pickles)

Now I was a bit scared to take a look on that one, not really sure if pickle was for a pickle or not but I did.

Really neat idea and surely different!

We have a tradition where the kids each get to open just one present on Christmas eve. They love it and it gives us time to spend together as a family

We use to do that too Elizabeth and then got smart by putting their stockings at the foot of their bed after they were asleep Christmas Eve.
This gave us a few more minutes of sleep! LOL

Great card. I did not know this about the pickle (Christmas pickle link). We bought a pickle ornament last year. I will have to tell him this one. Thanks.

We do the one gift thing too. But over the years my son has managed to sucker us into giving one the eve of Christmas Eve or one at Grandma and PaPa's and one at home.

Who could resist that cute little face!

I get he is going to be a lawyer.

YEP! I agree, who could whack such a cute little innocent looking face. But I tell ya there have been times where that cute face almost got a good one on the cheek.

We have a beautiful glass pickle on the tree every year and my daughter is more thrilled with finding the pickle than the gift she gets for finding it!

Oh I love how you used my file! Thanks for including the link explaining what this pickle thing is all about. I did this file as a request. I have never actually looked for a pickle myself!

Great file & card !! I've never hunted for pickle, but way back in the early 1990's Nieman Marcus was having an after Chrx Sale (50%-75% off & I had a job that paid me for working) ... I got some beautiful blown glass / hand painted ornaments (super fragile); one was a pickle ~ I didn't even know there was a pickle hunt on a tree ~ I just thought it was cute. Wow, we haven't even put up a tree since the mid 1990's ... maybe I should dig those out (most still w/ tags) and sell 'em on etsy or ebay ????

Two reasons ~ number 2 being "MEOW" // Little Cats & Huge Chrx Trees and their adornments don't always get along and it just takes one little meowing mischeif maker to spoil the fun. =^..^= We do other stuff so it's no big deal.

We put 2 sand tubes (weights for truck in winter, TSC has them) around the base under the tree skirt. My boys have not knocked down our tree yet. We only put non breakable items low and no tinsel garland or icicles.

Great Idea ~ A-Ok

Ever seen a kitty climb up the 7 foot' tall trunk to chew the angel off ~ that was funny, but not very safe. And on the way down (thank goodness I was there to save the cat) ... we almost had a hanging with the Chrx lights. Oh, and I counted 12 glass ornaments broken ~ this all happened w/in about a two minute time frame. The others would be no problem, but it just takes one stinker ... God bless 'em ~ I love cats ~ especially my stinker !!

cpc that makes sense. We shall see how my kitty does with the tree this year. My dog seems to be ok, even though the first year one of them wanted to play with the tree and the ornaments...lol

Are they big dogs or little dogs?
Do they get their own Chrx presents?
:)

Bet that was funny and scary. I found I can't put reflective ornaments at the bottom. They like to look at themselves. I tell them they are handsome and don't need to check. Mine get presents from each other and Santa. The dogs even open their own. SO they stay in the closet until Christmas day.

Too Cute ~ Love the animal vanity !! :):)

I'm thinking about special doggy biscuits and a new catnip bananas for our fur-kids this year.
