Thread: Hello & Happy Summer!

  1. Default Hello & Happy Summer!

Hi girls, I just got back from my short 1 week summer vacation - we went camping (not real roughing it camping - just trailer camping...at a camping resort no less, ha ha) and it was fun & relaxing!
So I just thought I'd say hi and see how your summers were going!

    Hi Kristen!

wondered where you go to! Sounds like you had a good time! I want a camper too, so we can do something like that...

But then, we have a boat, it's almost July, and it hasn't seen a lake once yet this year! Sighhhhhh...so I guess a camper is out of the question!

Sounds like fun Kristen! We are going to the mountain camping this weekend for a family reunion. I don't do tents either, we have a nice camper we bought last year, it even has air conditioning! I won't let my son sleep in the tent this year, we just had a fatal bear attack a few weeks ago. Different area than where we go but still... this bear tore through a tent and dragged an 11 year old boy out of it. It was so disturbing and I feel so bad for the family. My son is 11 also and it just hits way too close to home....no, no tents!

You ought to be like hubby and I . . . live in your RV. Looks like we will be here for at least 6 more months while we get our house/barn built. Now can you imagine living in an RV with all the paper and supplies that we cutter addicts have? It is really interesting to say the least!

    Shirley,

DH must be a jewel!!! My parents sold their house 2 years ago and now live in their RV full time. My mom went as far as to pack her princess house crystal in the RV. She never used it at home...ever...but has to have it with her on the road. I'm sure it is or will get broken. She even left out the washer and dryer unit to get more storage. She says that she is fine using laundry mats.

So, ya I can imagine taking all the paper etc. with you. Just don't know where you would put it. I know how much space mine takes up in the scrap/game/kids tv room.

    Hi Kristen,

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. We love to go camping (tent camping)!!! Even have a favorite campground we go to every year. It holds special memories as it is the last campsite we visited with my MIL before she passed away from Ovarian Cancer 8 years ago. Last year we were lucky enough to get our favorite site, if we hadn't gotten there when we did we would surely have lost it. There was a group coming in that was scattering the ashes of family/friend to them. At night they sang blue grass music and started to sing "I can't get no satisfaction" and my husband chimmed in with them. They got a kick out of it and invited us to join them. It was the best time. They did this every night and on the last day they went to a place we call "Redwood Crossing" and scattered his ashes. It is a beautiful place with trees that have fallen and now cross the river running through. Very surreal place, we hike to it every year and have salami, cheese and crackers and then do some fishing. In fact, I crawl up on a rock and go to sleep while DH, DS and DD go climb on rocks and trees and fish. Last year was the first year with bear boxes for your food. We have never seen a bear but they must be in the area. We take a dog with us all the time and that seems to help (At least we think it does) to keep them away.

Did you ever get the disk that I sent you? Just checking.

He is a jewel. We get along great so this works for us. He brought in a tall bookcase that I keep most of my supplies on. There is an area in the mobile home that also has some things that I can get to also. We barely had enough room in it for all our stuff, but DH managed to make a trail for me to get to my supplies! See he is a jewel!

Yep, he sure is. Any man/person that will put up with our addiction has to be a jewel.

Mine is a keeper as well. I graduated from a closet that is 4x4x1.5 to a room that is 500 SQ feet all together (I invaded his gameroom). I do however have to share with the pool table, computers and the kids tv that only has vcr capabilities. Boy, I am mean aren't I. HaHa
