Thread: Questions about Accu-Blade or Maxx Blade

  1. Default Questions about Accu-Blade or Maxx Blade

My daughter has a big project she is trying to do and is using my Pink Wishblade for part of it, but it isn't quite working. We need to cover a photograph with clear vinyl and cut them together. The best photo paper is quite heavy. To cut just the paper, we put our setting on 100# and still have to cut 3 times. The clear vinyl, we can cut in one pass, but to combine these and only cut in 1 pass, we need a heavier duty blade. Which blade do you think would work the best or are we going to have to invest in a different machine? I would appreciate any hints and help you can offer. If we can do it in one pass, it would make life much easier.

If it doesn't cut through in 2 passes on the Wishblade, then I don't think changing blades will make that much difference...but without having it to try, I can't say for sure. not sure how much time you have, but if you send me a piece of the photo paper you are using and let me know the vinyl brand, I can test it on a Silhouette with a Maxx bladeholder, and see if I can get it to cut or not. (Silhouette is the same model as your Wishblade, so it outputs the same grams of pressure.)
