Carrie called, and she said they met with the Dr. regarding Scott’s treatment and testing results. Currently, the tumor(s) are shrinking, and that was good news that they were happy to hear. Unfortunately, the Dr.’s had to follow-up with other news regarding the type of cancer Scott has. His cancer has a survival rate of less than three years. He will continue to fight this and to get him as much time as possible with his family, but they are looking at the very real possibility that Scott will not be able to completely beat this thing.

This is going to be a LONG HARD journey for the whole family, and your continued support and prayers are and have been greatly appreciated. Even though Carrie has not personally gone on to let you each know, the fundraiser we are holding have come to them in a real hard time of need. They are applying for all the state assistance they can get, but as you all know, that isn’t always enough, and most often is just enough to barely cover the basics. So please continue to advertise the membership club, as all of that will go towards helping them.

In an effort to lift up funds for this, we would like to extend the offer that anyone that REFERs someone to the Vacations & Getaways Membership club between now and 11:59 PM EST of August 31, 2009 will get their name in a drawing for a Large JunkItz Bag donated by Shirley Clark Designs.

We will also be doing another drawing for anyone that has either donated through the link provided or joined the club. This will be for a second Large JunkItz Bag donated by Paperthreads Designs.

Michelle has the fundraiser sign been updated lately?? Tomorrow is payday for me and I am planning on donating more, this is such sad news and I sure hope god can help fix things for her family. Will post this on my blog this evening and hopefully get some more donations in.

For those that haven't joined the Vacations and Getaways Membership, you are really missing out on some phenomenal files! It's only one month into the membership and we have already received 19 AWESOME files! Not only is this a chance to get tons of incredible files, but it's also a chance to help the Schwartz family. Helping those in need is what God wants us to do and if you can find it in your soul and pocketbook, PLEASE, join the club or at the very least, donate a little or a lot. The choice of amount is YOURS! If everyone on Paperthreads donated just a few dollars, this would be absolutely incredible!

I'm not a designer...just a member of this fabulous Paperthreads group...but I am 100% sure that you will LOVE this membership! Even if you don't go anywhere on vacations, the files are versatile so get those creative juices flowing and, at the same time, help out a family in NEED. Carrie and Scott have 7 wonderful children and they NEED YOU!

VERY WELL said Sue, i was thinking the same thing imagine the amount of help it would be if everyone on PT donated just a few $$. I cannot imagine how hard it has been on her and the family to deal with this life altering event. I am continuing to pray for them.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I just say what's in my heart. I'm not sure exactly how many members there are on PT, but IMAGINE if EVERYONE just put in a dollar...WOW!!!!!

Payday is Monday for me, of sorts. Actually, it's my hubby's payday but I'll tap his account and get a little more money into the fundraiser.

Michelle, thanks for the incentive of the drawing! I wish I, personally, could do MORE!

Carrie, if you get to read this, we love you and our prayers are going skyward for you, Scott and the children!

YW Sue and I know you speak from the heart. I feel the same as you do, I so wish i could do more for her and many other people. I do what I can just to stay afloat even though it is getting better for me and hopefully soon i will be done with college and have a real good job that supports my wishlist...lol

Yes I have Carrie in my thoughts - It is not an easy journey for them
and if we all sent a dollar it would add up

Remember how generous Carrie was to the paperthread members and her yahoo group with her free files

I also have to say thank you to the designers the files are wonderful

After talking to Carrie the other day, I KNOW she is feeling the love and feeling very blessed by our efforts to enhance her life during this time of trial!
