Back To School
It's that time again....
Early mornings, rushing around, setting new schedules. My kids may not be excited about going back to school, but while I enjoy having them home, I look forward to getting large periods of uninterrupted time to get some work done.
There are so many things that I love about back to school.
1. Picture taking opportunities as kids have their first day back at school, and dress up for that first day.
2. Kids activities back in progress, I enjoy watching my kids challenge themselves in their sports and do other activities.
3. Fall...there is nothing better than the fall colors around us, and having a beautiful pile of leaves to jump around and play in.
4. Cider...yum! There's not much else to say about that!
5. Hunting season....OK, so I don't hunt, but I LOVE hunting season, because several years ago, I made a pact with my husband, that I would not complain about his time away from home for weekend hunting trips, as long as he understood that those weekends were my alone time to do as much scrapping as I need, and there are to be no complaints about the house being a mess when he gets home!
What kinds of things do you look forward to when you hear the words....Back To School??

I have the honor of choosing the forum member of the month for this edition of the newsletter. This is exciting and I have been doing my research. I've looked over the forum backwards and forwards, up and down so if you felt like someone was watching you, it was me. With all of our awesome members, it took me a while, but I've finally decided. I'd love to spotlight Sandra from NC. She has been a member since March of 2007 and is quick to welcome new members and to help out when she can. She shares her cool projects in the gallery and loves to check out everyone else's work as well. She is active in several challenges and loves Bingo, too!

Did you know that there are some pretty exciting things happening on the Paperthreads Forum? Every month there are swaps and challenges to get your creative side in gear! The best thing about both swaps and challenges is that they get you to try things you wouldn't normally try. It's a great way to learn new techniques and stretch your creative muscles!
Here is a quick run down of the current swaps and challenges happening on the forum!
The Swaps:
The KNK Swap - hosted by Ileana Russell of I Scrap Designs. This swap happens every month beginning on the 15th of each month and ending on the 15th of the following month. This month's theme is Fall. Anyone with the KNK Studio software is invited to participate!
The WPC Swap - hosted by Karen (aka forum member kabebout). This is the WPC swap on the forum! It ends on August 29th so there is still time to join in. This month's theme is Challenge Yourself. Anyone with the WinPC or Funtime Scrapbooking software is invited to participate!
The GSD Swap - The GSD swap has been on vacation for the summer! Do you want it to return in the fall? Let us know on the forum! Better yet, volunteer to host it!

The Challenges:
The Card Sketch Challenge - hosted by Shelly (aka forum member slsonly). This is a monthly challenge that starts at the beginning of each month and ends at the end of each month. Each participant wins a prize! This month's prize is my very own Vintage Tags 2 file!
The Scrapbook Sketch Challenge - also hosted by Shelly (aka forum member slsonly). This is a monthly challenge that starts at the beginning of each month and ends at the end of each month. Each participant wins a prize! This month's prize is Carrie's Creations' Blooming Garden Flowers file!
The Save Gas, Stay Home & Scrap Challenge - hosted by Ileana Russell of I Scrap Designs and Jan Bryson of Sam & Hailey Designs. This is a monthly challenge that starts on (or around) the 15th of each month and runs until the 15th of the next month. Each month you receive a file from each of the hosting designers for signing up and other prizes will vary from month to month!
The Book of Me Challenge - hosted by Vicki (aka forum member Victoria). This is an on going challenge that started in February of 2008 and new stages of the challenge are posted at various times. Start back at the beginning and get caught up to where they are now!
