Gallery Pick

by Carrie Schwartz, Carrie's Creations

Choosing one person for gallery pick of the month wasn't too hard when you consider how many layouts and pictures thecraftytazz is sharing in our gallery. I counted forty-one uploads from May 11th to her most recent August 12th. That's amazing!

From layouts to pictures of her scraproom she IS the crafty tazz! It's as if she is in a whirlwind of scrap happenings. Most of her layouts are two pages with themes that we all can get ideas from! Like: Mommy & Me, Daddy & Me, Cool Tools, Potty Training and Muscles, Believe, Picnic Time, Monkeyin' Around, Little Drummer Boy, and the list goes on.

My favorite has to be "Prince Charming"! It is an awesome layout, fit for a king, and she made that apparent by using papers that look like royalty and crowned a silhouette. I also like her use of a variety of frames and angles that you see throughout her layouts.

If you are in need of ideas for organizing your scraproom you will want to see the many photos that thecraftytazz shared of her scraproom. It's a scrappers dream! With all the papers, ribbon, fibers, organizers, folders, inks, tools you are bound to get motivated. She even has a place set aside for her baby the "KNK" machine nested right next to her computer and printer.

I hope you get a chance to go through her gallery and I believe you will agree why I chose thecraftytazz as the Gallery Pick of the Month for August.

Thank you, thecraftytazz, for sharing your creative work and ideas with us here at Paperthreads! For your outstanding uploads you will receive my Blast Off file to enjoy scrapping more of your boys!

Do you want to have your work chosen as our Gallery Pick of the Month? Be like thecraftytazz and post your creative work to the Paperthreads Gallery! We'd love to see your craft room pictures, too!

How To: Open AI Files in Create & Cut

by Jan Bryson, Sam & Hailey Designs

As many Wishblade users already know, the Create & Cut software cuts more smoothly and quickly to their cutters than the Wishblade software does. With it's better cutting interface it is so much easier to cut multi-layered designs there, too. Wouldn't it be great if you could cut more files from Create & Cut and delegate the Wishblade software to Print & Cuts?

Well, did you know that you can easily open any Adobe Illustrator file in Create & Cut and with very few steps, be ready to cut out a whole design in no time flat? Almost every file in the Paperthreads store is available in the AI format, so you could do this today with the files you have already purchased!

Link It Up!

Each month we will try to spotlight a favorite link in the crafting world that one or more of our designers love visiting!

This month we came across this fantastic project at Creating Keepsakes! It's an adorable easy to create doll house made from foam core board and scrapbooking supplies! It seriously made us want to run right out and get some foam board and make one. In fact, one of our designers' daughters while walking past this photo up on her computer immediately stopped and asked, "Are you going to make that for me?" Hmmm... maybe she should!

How To: Create Program Shortcuts

by Shirley Clark, Shirley Clark Designs

Is your desktop filled with shortcuts to allow you to get to those most frequently used computer programs? Get ready to clear off your desktop and use it for displaying pictures instead!

For example:

To open Illustrator, I click on Ctrl >Alt > L
To open KNK, I click Ctrl >Alt > K
To open Quicken, I click Ctrl >Alt > Q

I love opening my programs this way. It's quick and easy and keeps my desktop clear! CLICK HERE to learn how to set up program shortcuts!
